Welcome to the Single Flower Zen Center!
The Single Flower Zen Center in Benicia, California,
holds daily meditation practice,
public talks, ceremonies, and meditation retreats.
Single Flower Zen Center draws from a
variety of Zen practices. We mainly work with teachers and groups
that have a connection of some sort with
the late Korean Zen Master Seung Sahn. Seung Sahn (also known as Dae Soen Sa Nim)
came to America in 1972 and taught for 32 years. He died in 2004.
Zen Master Seung Sahn founded the
Kwan Um School of Zen,
an international network of meditation centers. He gave
dharma transmission to a number of Zen Masters. Some of these Zen
Masters are part of the Kwan
Um School of Zen; others have left the Kwan Um School and developed centers
and groups on their own.
